TREATMENT TECHNIQUES, PHILOSOPHY, ADVANCED CARE
Our Team of Specifically Trained Physiotherapists have all obtained advanced certification in the management and treatment of all orthopeadic, sports injuries and musculoskeletal pain conditions. We work in a patient-centered approach.
On your first visit, you will be interviewed, and a full history taken by one of the physiotherapists. A plan of care suitable to your needs and goals will be developed and discussed with you. Our physiotherapists liaise with other practitioners to ensure comprehensive care.
Manual Therapy
Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and Pain Management are the special interests of our physiotherapists. Pain education, manual therapy hands on treatment, soft tissue work, massage, dry needling, and joint mobilisations (including manipulation) are incorporated into specific treatment plans determined by the needs of the patient.
Pain Management
Therapeutic Neuroscience Education – this important across all areas of physiotherapy as most clients seek advice regarding conditions that cause pain, stiffness or some sort of physical impairment. The experience of a painful condition is unique to each person.
Movement and Exercise Therapy
We aim to restore and enhance strength, health and wellness as part of our interventions and rehabilitation programs. Pre and postoperative education and rehabilitation
Classes are offered for movement, strengthening, balance training, and flexibility with pain neuroscience education are offered with instruction by a physiotherapist in small groups.
Classes are offered TUES and THURSDAY 8:15 am, 9:15 am, 10:15 am and 11:15 am. Patients are grouped according to their needs and goals.
Core pilates classes are also offered at the Franschhoek Physiotherapy practice. Individual and group classes are available.
Ergonomic and workstation evaluation
giving recommendations on corrections, adjustments and improvements including advice on chairs, tables, furniture and equipment accessories. Advice and practical tips regarding how best to adapt to the working, office environment can be given, taking into account the patient’s presenting complaints and needs.
